Extended Outboard Shock Relocation (OSR+) Kit – The OSR+ kit is an enhanced version of the standard OSR, featuring a hoop that is 1.5 inches taller. This design lifts the entire shock body higher compared to the standard OSR, offering greater performance capabilities along with one additional installation requirement.
OSR+ Requirements:
- Body lift of 1 inch or more is required to clear the taller hoop.
OSR+ Benefits: Choose the benefit that best aligns with your build:
- (a) Increased ground clearance – Higher mounting points at both the top and bottom.
- (b) Ability to install a 14-inch shock instead of the typical 10 or 12-inch OSR shock options.
Important: 12-inch shocks are the safe limit for stock rear geometry. 14-inch shocks or longer require upgraded rear geometry (e.g., FGP 3-Link). Upgrading rear arms alone does not qualify as a geometry upgrade.
Compatibility Disclaimer:
- 2.5x14" shocks will not fit without modification – These shocks are longer when collapsed compared to 2.0” diameter shocks. Frame notching is required.
- For 2.0 shocks – Minimum 3.5” wheel backspacing is recommended for tire clearance. (Example: 4.5” backspacing wheels require 1” spacers.)
- For 2.5” shocks – Minimum 3” backspacing is necessary.
Kit Includes:
- Upper extended shock hoops
- Upper shock mount tabs
- Frame plates and end caps
- Lower shock mount tabs (4Runner kit)
- Lower shock towers (Tacoma kit)
Options:
- Weld it yourself, or have it shipped pre-assembled for $200.
- Add reservoir mounts & hardware for $29.
- Add frame notch plates (for clearing 2.5" diameter shocks) for $29
